Featured Project

The London Eye is one of the best-known projects in Malcolm Cook’s experience. Working closely with Julia Barfield and David Marks, Malcolm directed the whole process from inception to completion. Negotiations to develop in a World Heritage Site at the outset were followed by detailed analyses related to design and capacity. This meant taking into consideration elements including people flows, tourist traffic impact and aerodynamics. This made the whole project viable, enabling one of the World’s iconic landmarks to be financed, sponsored by BA and constructed.

Design Advisor

We partner with landlords and tenants when changes of occupancy are proposed. MCA consult considers a range of design options for tenants or reviews tenant proposals on behalf of landlords. We apply our expertise and experience to maximise efficiency and flexibility.

Featured Project

Developers need to make assumptions about occupancy at a very early stage in the design process. Here, we looked at doubling the anticipated density, examining how it would affect HVAC systems, common areas, lift provision and toilet facilities. The result was to dramatically widen the commercial appeal of this major London office development. A task that as an incidental unforeseen benefit: making it appropriate for Covid-19 compliance.
